Lionel Cuffie Award Recipient

Winner of the 2007 Lionel Cuffie Award for Activism and Excellence

Thomas L. Snyder, Jr. is the winner of the 2007 Lionel Cuffie Award for Acivism and Excellence. The Award was presented during the seventh annual Rainbow Graduation Celebration on May 8, 2007.
Tom received this award for his outstanding academic achievement as a part-time student since 1990 in the Camden College of Arts and Sciences and then the School of Business,
For his dedicated service, since graduation from high school, to the Rutgers-Camden community as an out gay staff-person in the Camden Campus Center, the Office of Financial Services, and the Rutgers-Camden Bookstore from 1988 to the present, For his active membership as the Rutgers-Camden representative on the universitywide Gender Identity Taskforce from 2005 to the present, And for his membership in the Alpha Sigma Lambda, Beta Alpha Psi, and Rutgers-Camden Athenaeum Academic Honors Societies. Thomas L. Snyder, Jr.'s persistence, hard work, and dignity exemplify the spirit of this award.
Winner of the Taskforce for LGBT Communities Certificate of Appreciation went to Ms. Katie Blouse (Rutgers College 2007). Certificates are awarded by the Taskforce for LGBT Communities to seniors who have contributed to the advancement of LGBT student issues on campus. The Taskforce is a campus-wide advisory group comprised of staff, students, and faculty.
